Montagno Construction was selected to construct the new, 5,000 sf farmhouse education and
welcome center, new maple sugaring house, and a new ticket booth at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center. Our work included installation of landscaped, park-like grounds with seating areas, fire pits, and fountain, and renovating the near parking lot.

This work effectively created a new public entrance farther west on Scofieldtown Road for the Nature Center with an event space and restrooms. This configuration will accommodate increased programming available to area school children and families in Connecticut and New York.

“I spent my career as a developer who managed my own in-house construction force, and I can say with certainty that Montagno Construction’s team was fully knowledgeable, cooperative, competent, and responsive. I was impressed with how your team held to the schedule from week to week and with the reports that were generated regarding all facets of the project.”

One of the first projects performed by Montagno Construction was the conversion South Park Baptist Church into South Park Inn, a now-famous source of supportive temporary and long-term housing for Hartford’s homeless. The sanctuary space is now filled with tidy housing units that provide safe, private living quarters while communal spaces, offices, and program space are on the lower level.

Our work included historic restoration and abatement, new windows, improved HVAC and restrooms. It is still a functioning supportive facility 30 years later.

A National Historic Restoration Project. It was funded by DSS and DOH with CHRO requirements.
